I created a drop down menu in flash, but the problem is that i want to put it into a web page, but w/ the drop down part, i can't put anything underneath the drop down menu, because of the drop down. (that doesn't sound very coherent, but i can't think of a better way to word it) Can I make part of my movie transparent, or is there some other way to allow text and img elements underneath part of the menu...?
Thanks. Jordan.

Any plugin like the Flash Player, when used in a DIV tag like way, will always want to be on top....
So... everything else should already be on the bottom... so... I'm lost. You're asking how to put stuff underneath Flash ina webpage, and it should already work... Do you have a specific example?? A URL?? |

hmmm
I (also) don't quite get it but...
there is a way with background images for instance check the html of this page http://pap14.xs4all.nl/satpic.html It loads a bgimage and puts a (mostly) transparant flash file on top of it to hide some things. It might ne a bad example though. If you mean integrating html text and putting flash on top of that, that seems difficult if not impossible because you'd have to give up all the dimensions of your flash movie, so the html will start underneath the movie. You could try to make the whole page in flash and import the html and just use the layers wisely. Teabag |

Ok.. so you don't want any ~functionality~ you just need the backgroudn image to show through... you'll want to look into wmode...
http://www.macromedia.com/support/f...ments/wmode.htm ... a word to the wise.. I hope this isn't for an ad... I have yet to find a person who likes those floating Flash ads.... ![]() |

I, too, aspire to eliminate the flash advertisements.

also remember that netscape 7 is the first netscape version to support tranparent flash movies, and it's not even working right yet ... so things might not turn out how you expected. take a look at that link you posted in netscape to see what i mean...
