Hi, this is can be a hefty project to take on, good luck.
I cant seem to find any all-in-one tutorials right now. I use php and mysql. They talk to each other via PHPObject. You can get PHPObject here. The following tutorial talks about retrieving card data from a mysql database using PHPObject: PHPObject Tutorial Your going to need PHP which you can download free, mysql - also free (n youve already got i reckon) and PHPObject which costs £9million pounds hehe no thats free too :¬) PHP is pretty straight forward to install I reckon, plenty of tutorials out there for that. PHP Object is also dead easy to install, just follow the instructions off their site. Once everything is set up and you have made all the relevant prequisits i.e. made the database, the content in there and the .php file (from the above tutorial) then you can probably make the site (at its most basic) with a two arrow buttons (or one flipped) and a blank movie (to load the image into). I cant really make a demo for this right now, bit to much on. Theres definately got to be some tutorials out there somewhere though, hope someone else can help you further if this isnt enough -Tann |

MySQL Control Center, search the mysql homepage for it. I think its pretty good.
I planned on writing an all-in-one guide a while ago but too many things crept up and stole my time. If I get it done I'll let you know, but it probably wont be for a few weeks. -Tann |

Take a deep breath :¬0
Have you got a web server set up, like apache? start with mysql or php. Look on their sites for install and setup procedures. Best place to start. setup PHP Object. I know theres a guide on their site. For help with php object look at both their new site and their old site. if you cant find the relevant links off the ealier post address then lemme know and i'll dig em up. Dreamweavers up to you, i cant help you there cos i dont use it. i did ages ago but I bet the newer versions are quite different. Update the updater...hehe.. you shouldnt need that really to use the other stuff but hey your using dreamweaver so your obviously doing stuff i dont. I'd just dive in. I'd start with working out what fields you want to have both on the form and in the database. Then check out the php Object forums. Theres two lots. the old site has more content in my opinion but the new site has a few tutorials that may be usefull. one of them is a mysql connector in php that can be used from flash pretty easily. Mysql control center is pretty stratight forward. You need to get yourself to the point where you can access your db in the main window. Make a new table to store your image links, comments etc. Then make a new user that will be able to access the database from the site. Read up a bit on permissions and work out what you need. i think its just select and index. You use this data in your phpobject gateway file. Theres only like 5 lines you need to change to get phpObject to work via the gateway. if you get somethign together post it and i'll take a look later. -Tann |
