Flash Resources

I thought it was about time we had a list of useful flash sites in an attempt to stop the same topics being posted again and again. So here are some sites which are well worth visiting for developer resources.

_lockroot (fp7) - This lets you lock the _root of an imported movie clip. So if you have paths in it that are like _root.dog.bark(); and then loadMovie() that clip into another, _root then means _root of the main clip, not the one you wrote it in. _lockroot will keep it as it was intended.

I am really surprised that nobody mentioned ultrashock.

It is one of the best sites for flash developers of all skill levels. The tutorials, although few, are amazing, and very easy to follow. The community on the site is full of professionals and experts very willing to help. I strongly recommend checking it out.
