If you're creating a Standalone Projector, you'll probably just want to embed the Flash OCX in a VB app and take care of it that way.

    Thats a start, thanks.

But is there a way for flash to do it on its own.

    say:

    c:\test.swf

can call a dll pass it some info and then display what the dll send back. Without any other languages been involved.

Is there some set libraries in flash for communicating ???

    Cheers

You might be able to do it with AMF... but it's a relatively new thing, and you'd have to hard code it into your DLL... so there's no way to get an existing DLL to handle AMF.

I'd just wrap my Flash OCX in VB.

What are you trying to do anyway??

I'm wanting to send some information to a DLL and then the DLL to send me some back.

Then render the DLL output on screen. It has to be done by using a DLL as Flash will not be able to talk directly to any other components of the system.

So i need to call a function within the DLL and render its output to screen.

Its the DLL communicating that is the trouble. :lol

    Thanks anyway

A system exe might work just fine... getURL can do some cool things...
