HALP--Button problem
I have a 70x50pix button as a swf file that I want to use in my flash movie. Say I want to position it at x=100 and y=100. When I load the button movie and play the whole file, the button appears with the designated size and functions (in terms of rollover effect) but everything else in the scene is blacked out with the button smack in the middle of the screen. How can I fix this so it's just another icon on the stage??!

Hi, when you say everything is blacked out, how do you mean? Is that in a final publish or just when editing in flash?

HALP
When I run the movie. The button does not appear as I work within the frame because it doesn't load until the movie plays. But once it plays, then everything is backed out except for the button when I advance to the frame to which the button loads.

Hi, how is everything blacked out? What is "everything"? Are we talking about some input boxes or animated clips. When you say blacked out do you mean that the text boxes arent accepting input or is there some kind of semi transparent fill over everything. Your not really giving enough information. How about a link at least.

HALP--Button problem
OK--Here's a zipped fla which is absolutely worthless as a movie except that it shows the "before and after" effect I'm getting. I want frame 2 to look like frame 1 with the addition of the blue button which is an swf file.
I'd send the actual file but it's too large even zipped. None of this is web based. I use a laptop and projector to show it on a screen, |

Hi, I think your problem could of been fixed in a few ways. One way, the one I chose was to move the blue box onto its own layer above all the other content.
what you did was that you had a keyframe with one lot of content in and then in the same timeline you had a totally seperate keyframe with just the blue box. You could choose make keyframe after frame 1 which will make a new kf with all the content on keyframe 1 and the make the blue box in that second keyframe. I believe this to be wastefull however and what I did above should be better. edit -> removed fix.zip as my attachment limit has been reached. Ask for it to be posted again. |

Tann,
Is there an e-mail address where I can send you the two files I'm having trouble with? I can't attach them to this message. |
