HQX projector file on a Mac

Flash5 publishes an .hqx file as a Mac projector.

If the system used to publish is a PC, will the resulting .hqx file run OK on a Mac? OS 8-9 and X?

Finally is any plug-in required to view .hqx files on a Mac?

Hi,

The .hqx file can be generated from a win machine and will work fine on a Mac. You don't need any plug-ins to view the file as they include the projector (You will see your nice neat .swf files shoot up about 350k as standalone files just like the windows .exe versions!).

Then why can no-one with a Mac read my files? They can't open my hqx or my swf files.

I un-stuffed the file ok, but it didn't open. Can anyone on a mac open the .swf file? (Flash install required) or view it on a mac through a web page?

It loaded fine in the browser (as swf) on Mac 8.5. I can only assume there is an error when converting it to a distributable binary? Does a windows .exe work ok?

Yes the .exe file works perfectly on PC.

Someone has mentioned that file names cannot be longer than 8 characters and that file extensions are a no-no for the Mac. In light of this I have re-published my Mac projector file accordingly.

Please will some kind Mac user confirm whether this new file opens OK...
