INTRO: (Please read

)
Hey guys, I've already made one thread in the
Apache forum on how to set up a server for my well webmaster's club (don't really have an official name). I'm also in Yearbook. While I
assume here that not many of you here care too much about yearbook. To be honest I never did either until, well, I joined it myself. It's actually a bigger thing that it's percieved to be. Aperantly everyone in the yearbook is an overachiever and a work freak. I fall into that category so I guess that's why they took me in. Now that's just a little note there that I tend to throw in so you guys know where I'm coming from. At our school, I'm considered the best programmer, and all around tech savy guy. So they made up a really
important position for me. I'm the
Digital Media Editor, anyway what I'm supposed to do this year is create a supplement for the yearbook which will contain videos, extra pictures, and other stuff like it. The yearbook has never actually tried this before but other schools have, and I believe we did and it didn't work out a few years back, before my time : ).
I'm getting to the point of my problem now, how do I make an Interactive CD that looks proffesional? I mean when I signed up I really didn't realize what I was getting myself into and I feel that putting up a crappy presentation just wont do!
MY SOLUTION:
This might not be the best but I figured I should try and make in Flash and use macromedia director as the authoring software. Please note I have never in my life touched director and simply have it for kicks (umm yea I admit it, I'm a bit of a piro, I hope you guys aren't offended, I am a student after all). The other part is Flash. I've made little tween animations before and used Flash 4 a lot a few years ago, but never really made a site that's fully made in Flash .

Yea it's a bit of a problem, but I hope to learn which is why I came here

. The GUI on the cd would actually resamble
Full Sail web site . We really want the guy fading in like that (I've done a few green screens before but nothing spectacular). So I do also have experience with Adobe Premiere to boot which I hope will help.
MY QUESTIONS:
- Is there a better solution for what I'm doing, besides Director and Flash?
- After looking at the full sail web site, how should I begin? What sources should I use? And most of all how do I organize?
- What's the best format of compression to use on movies when dropping into flash?
- Does anyone have good links on how to use Director? Maybe books they read and liked.
- Any suggestions, coments, and help is more than welcome!!!
PS: The "Editor in Chief" (she's a level above me) wants to see something working in 3 weeks !!!!!
Please guys I need your help.
