Unhappy I thought I knew what I was doing..

Hello.. I created a 750px x 400px movie for a flash intro. I have already set it up to redirect to the interior page (index2.html) after the intro is finished.

I would like to also add the ability to click anywhere on the movie to go to index2.html (for people who have been there before and don't want to sit through the whole intro). I tried creating a 750x400 button over the top of the movie to click on, but that didn't work. Is there something I am not remembering from my flash class??

Please help. Thank you in advance!

Greetings,

I made you an FLA with a bit of a different method. It's a transparent clip that is placed on a layer over the intro with the hand cursor disabled. When you click anywhere on the stage, it will go to the index. Just make sure that you tell users that they can click anywhere to skip the intro. The FLA is below. Enjoy.

Sincerely,
Jamie Michels www.thedarkcontent.com

Unhappy still not working..

Thank you very much for helping me.

Your code makes sense to me, the problem that I have now is that my swf is embeded in a web site and I need to click it to go to an external link (another page in the web site - not another frame in the movie).

I used your example and set it up to go to an external link, and it worked! When I tried it in my own FLA, I did not have the same result The only difference I see is that my movie is 150 frames long (including motion tweens), I cannot include the stop in mine because it has to go for the 150 frames.

If you would like to help me further, may I please send you my FLA file for you to look at it - if you don't mind?

Thanks again,
Melanie
