Importing Movies in Flash Clip

Hi there

I'm not gonna say I'm new to flash, but I'm not a pro either.

I was trying one time to import a movie of type .mov into a new flash file I was designing.

The problem I faced was the fact that the .mov file got imported but without its sound, so how can I import it with the sound?

Also, I want to import this same .mov file as frames, rather than as a whole .mov file, because I want to add some visual effects on some certain frames in this imported movie. So anyone has any idea?

1) Import the video and choose Encoding (advanced) -> Audio -> Integrated

2) You have to Import the movie to the flash file first, than export as an image sequence (like jpeg, gif or tga), then import the whole into the movie again.

You have to have flash mx or above, the (Encoding (advanced) -> Audio -> Integrated appears after you import the movie. It's called the Sorenson"puggin or something.

About Flash 5 sorry but I can't help here, I don not have it.

I got Flash mx now, and yor're right a window appears when I import the video file in my flash movie, but it doesn't have any of what you're talking about of (Encoding (advanced) -> Audio -> Integrated) stuff, but it does have an image of Sorenson. I clicked on Sorenson image to see if this might show me how to get to (Encoding (advanced) -> Audio -> Integrated) but all it did was to take me to Sorenson homepage.

Anyway, I thought of downloading the trail version of Sorenson to check it out and to see if it does help me eventually. So, I downloaded it and then installed in my pc, but the problem stays the same and I don't see nothing of (Encoding (advanced) -> Audio -> Integrated) but only the same Sorenson image in the window that appears when I import a video file in my flash movie.

Are you following me here? I appreciate your help.

this logo screen shows a radio button with two options right? check "import the entire video" and then "next". next is the "encoding" screen. click "edit" in the "advanced settings" field, to go to this screen (encoding -> advanced settings screen I've told you about). In the field "track options" choose Import -> current timeline, and Audiotrack -> integrated. Click in "next" to import the movie to the stage.

Thanx man I appreciate this. But now when I export this movie the way you say, then I have to export it as a jpeg sequense then import this sequense into a new flash movie file, would this sequense still have the sound with them or ..?

no, the sound is lost. You can export the sound as wav or mp3 apart from the pictures and then join them again in flash.
