importing vector art from illustrator into flash looks jaggedy? how do I fix this?

I am importing vector artwork from illustrator to flash mx and have noticed that I cannot get a good import of the vector.
Its really jaggedy around the curves.
I use cut and paste to import it. Is this natural. Do I have to do all my vector drawing in flash to get a smooth vector image, specially when it comes to curvy vector art.
Importing from photoshop jpegs is good but vectors looks really bad, and sometimes the strokes aren't aligned with the fill.

What are my best ways of getting good vector artwork into flash mx.

TIA

I've had trouble many times importing Illustratyor EPS formats in to flash. Two things I've found that seem to solve about 85% of problems is:

1. Save the EPS as Illustrator version 6 and don't 'include document thumbnails'

and/or

2. Import the Illustrator EPS using 'Import to Library' and then drag the EPS from the Library (F11) on to the scene/layer.

I can't offer any explinations as why either or both of these work - I just found out playing around that I got rid of most of my problems which were the same as you described..

you import the eps into flash?

flash is macromedia, illustrator is adobe, export to swf from inside illustrator then import the swf, if you don't the colors are never right, gradients can be erased, the vectors can be corrupted, and the size of the image when published can be multiplied for no reason

works for me !

Hi moot..

Doing what I suggest above I never have any of the problems you list. Sure using Illustrator to create an swf and the inporting that to flash works fine, but I find I can get much smaller file sizes when I publish from flash if I have inported the eps
