Flash Player - Is flash really going to be dead?

I am trying to build a website that does webcams and the only technology that I feel is the best is Flash with the least amount of bandwidth consumption. It will be similar to chatroulette.

My friend said that flash support will be dropped by major companies alltogether.

Any thoughts?

I don't think that flash will be dropped at once. Flash technology is widely used so it still will be in use for years. As far as I know Flash will be dropped only for mobiles technologies.

I noticed all audio players still use SWF.

What audio players are on websites for iPhones and iPads?

Well, as with all technologies it may fade in popularity it MOST certainly will not die.

I think, flash isn't dead. With it you can create dynamic banners, headers and smth else.
Flash websites are also beautiful and creative but they aren't indexed by search engines. And it's main disadvantage.

But flash isn't dead.
E.g. flash website templates are in popular demand.
