Is there anyway to publish on a different folder of the .fla file?

i would like to have a especific folder /fla/ where i can save my .fla files, and automatically define a different folder to publish them, so that when i upload to the web server will be easy to separete fla from swf and upload only the last one type.

is there anyway to define the publishing folder of a fla file?

Hi, i do that all the time. I create and edit the .fla files on my machine and then publish the shockwave straight to my server for instant testing. Go to publish settings. On the first screen with all the file names uncheck the "Use Default Names" option. You should now be able to type both a new file name and also a path where you would like your shockwave generated.

As a sidenote, has anyone tried c:\windows\explorer.exe as the projector output :¬) I always thought this was a potential problem with editor paths. There's not much point in doing it to yourself but most people probably dont check the publish paths when they accept a flash file for editing off someone else. Probably wont work for files that are already running (such as explorer.exe) but it can be used for other things such as "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Photoshop 7.0\photoshop.exe" etc.....

awesome, but i never saw the folder icon side the name of the swf file


Certaintly seems a bug security that flash don't prevent to overwrite other existing exe program files. :-!
Must take speciall atention when we recieve fla files of other authors for modifing...
