load external html file in an empty movieclip
Hi everyone!
Can anyone help me solving this question. Is it possible to load an external html file in an empty movie clip? I want to load an html file, as if it was an external swf, in a determinate position and with determinate size of the main movie. Is it possible? I guess so. Thanx in advance Musher |

Hi, I didnt think you could do this. You could try out dynamic text fields with html formatting enabled. I think in mx2004 you can have image tags. The first link is to the macromedia site. They talk about tags in flash 5. The second is a blog about tags in MX.

This is an interesting question.
A .swf file is traditionally defined as an embedded object in html, just as a java applet is. However with the new mx actionscript stuff you can send commands to all kinds of different program languages such as javascript, perl, xml crap. php.....on and on! I know that you can easily send html with perl to the browser but I honestly don't think actionscript has gone that far yet and I don't think it will, but I certainly could be wrong. Because of the language history (c++ and java hybrid) I am going to say this cannot be done. Actionscript has too many of it's own classes and it has it's "#include" thingy like any 3rd oop and I think they want to maintain thier lead over java. I would loved to be proven wrong however! |
