looping movie clip
i've been working with flash for about 2 weeks and im getting the hang of it pretty well.. theres one thing i cannot seem to figure out. i am working with a slowly moving background that loops. i got it to work and it looks really good, but when i started to work on other scenes, i wanted it in those scenes too, so i turned the moving background into a movie clip. here's my question:
how do i get this movie clip to play through every scene smoothly without "reloading" itself? i clicked and dragged the clip from my library to the stage, and it only fills up 1 keyframe... and it blinks.. how do i get it to play through everything? im sure the answer is simple, im just trying to avoid a headache. -shawn |

If you're using a movie clip on a timeline, you'll need a stop action on the frame to prevent it from "blinking" as you said. I believe this is what you refer to, no?

well, when i mention it blinking, im talking about how the movie clip is only 1 frame after i drag it from the library to the stage.

The root timeline is a completely separate entity from a movieclip's timeline. You can have a 100 frame movie clip, but on the main timeline it will only fill 1 keyframe.

a root timeline is the timeline of the scene or default scene..
but back to the question. do i just add more frames to the root timeline to get the (lets say) "100 frame animation" going? |
