Masking within a Button

I am attempting to mask a graphic within a button. It displays fine on the stage but once I Test the movie, the mask and the object within the mask are shown.

I've also tried masking the picture in a graphic symbol and then dropping the graphic into the button, but I get the same result.

try useing a movie clip

You might try useing a movie clip insted of a button and just programing beheavour for the clip. From what I've read it's not a good idea to put a lot of stuff in a button. THough it would seem that a mask should work just fine...Nope, I just tried it and it doesn't like that kind of stuff in a button.
