newb needs help with movie

alright, what i was doing here was very simple, and i still managed to not do it right. i am a newbie, and i mean all i really know how to is tween. i have 2 things, that i know aren't hard for you guys, but impossible for me to figure out. here we go:

check out my site for my movie i made:
http://punkaim.com/movietest/intro.html

i want it to be the new intro to my site. the problem is, the words should appear when the hard part of the song comes on and then disapear when the hard part is gone. the timing on flash mx was fine, but not when i upload it to the net. the second thing i wanted to do was add a loading thing. somethin simple that just says like "loading". no fancy stuff. i am thinking if i actually loaded the intro the timing would be right. could someone please help? i really hope so.

For starters you need to add a STOP to the end of the movie. Do this by adding the action script to a blank keyframe.

Next, for hitting the hard parts, that just takes time and patients. Look at the timeline for where the LARGEST part of the sound clip is and that is the LOUDest part. Try to add the text right before the beginning of it.

As for a preloader check this one out, it should go nicely with your intro PRELOADER

different layers for different images/symbols/actions are okay, but when adding a stop you only need 1 to stop the entire clip.

You can put it anywhere you want when you get to the last frame. I usually label my frames, so chances are I would create a new layer at the top called Actions and add a blank keyframe to the end of the movie and add the STOP action there.

1. I think the question about the music being longer then the movie is just a personal preference. Some people will leave it running longer, some people will stop it, because the intro is over and they want the user to now move on to their site.

2. To stop a movie, create a new layer above all your other layers. Go to the very last frame of the new layer (Flash should automatically create the layer with frames that go to the end of your movie). Click on the last frame and press [F6]. This should create a new KeyFrame. Next double click the new KeyFrame and the Actions window should open. Click the + sign on the top left hand side. Choose Basic Actions, and then STOP.

Next, click the + again and choose Basic Actions, StopAllSounds. (If you decide to stop your sound when your video ends).

Good Luck!

There should be some tutorials on FlashKit.com that can help you with the loader. As for the new URL, do as follows.

The KeyFrame that contains the [STOP] action, after the [stop] and [StopAllSounds] click the + again, choose Basic Actions and then [GetUrl]. If you want it to open in the same window, change the second field from _blank to _top.
