Unhappy onSetFocus not working

Hi all.

I simply can't get onSetFocus to work. I need to clear the text of a box and am using this code but I just can't get it to work - it just won't clear the text box. I've tried pre-entering the value in the textbox and een setting a variable to set the text of the box but nothing clears it. Can someone help? My source file is attached and i'd be sooo grateful.

Thanks

Greetings,

I fixed your FLA to use the onSetFocus function. You'll find the code in your scripts layer above the textfield. I also implemented the onKillFocus method to restore the text when the user clicks out of the bounds of the text field. You can get the FLA from:

Jamie

The script works perfectly and I can see what I did wrong now. I really do appreciate the time you've taken to help me.
Your site is, well, dark, so I think you've achieved your aim! Your Flash is superb as well.

Once again, many thanks!

Hi, I've tested the script and the onSet Focus works great but the search box doesn't seem to pass the typed in text to the URL any more. It also seems to be mixing the date function up so the resulting url contains a whoile load of variables from that function. Any ideas?

Thanks

Hi Simon,

I found a couple of errors with regard to your variables that are causing problems with your search function. I'll try to clean it up as best I can and have it up within a couple of hours.

Sincerely,
Jamie Michels

Hello Simon,

I have included the updated FLA for you below. The search string will now include what is typed in the textbox and the date function has been removed from the string.

Sincerely,
Jamie Michels www.thedarkcontent.com
