Problems creating a flash animation

I'm really having some trouble making a flash cartoon.

Riddle me this...

Why would a flash animation play FASTER on a pentium 1 machine than on a pentium 4 machine?

I've tried everything I can to understand this problem but to no avail. The reason this all came up is I was trying to find a way to stream my sound files, but the quality was very poor and they weren't lining up with my animation. Using plain old 'Event' based sounds causes the animation to slow down tremendously. (Tried a preloader already.)

For some reason I decided to test my animation on an old lap top that was laying around. IT WORKED FINE! No problems. It wasn't slowed down in the least. Gahhhh.

Basically I need someone with some degree of experience with making flash cartoons with lip-synced voices to take a look at my file. It's probably a mess. I know it's a mess. I'm not really much of a Flash "professional" by any stretch of the imagination.

Anyone who could help would recieve a hero's reward. Or maybe a thank-you.

Cheers,
-Bud

so... where is this file?

eta: lol, i'm not a sir, and definitely not a servant....

but, would you mind uploading the swf (and html) somewhere so I can see the difference when played on a browser, online?

because right now, i don't see any slow-down; by viewing either:

(a) the swf alone

or

(b) within IE6 with the swf embedded inside an html.

but of course, the files are on my desktop.

Should I assume then, good sir, that ye are accepting of the task?

The .fla can be found here:

This is a small clipping of it, because it shows the problem I'm having. There's no sound at all, yet still when you view the file in a browser, or online, the frame rate is slowed down. It works just fine when viewed locally.

Thanks a bunch for helping me out dkkz. Your gentleness and servant's heart warms my soul.
