Programmatic Tweening

Hello.. I've been working with Flash MX 04 for a month or so and am wondering if there is a way to programatically change the coordinates of a symbol at the end keyframe before playing a movie clip. In my application, I can be sure of the origin but want to move the destination point before playing the movie clip frames. I've tried to change the instance name of the symbol in the final frame and modify the coordinates but this did not work at all. Any ideas?

Any help is appreciated...
Thanks.
