search engines
I am thinking on ways to optimize a flash site for search engines and the idea I am thinking of is to load the page up with a lot of related text that will have a high reoccurrence of the words that show up in the meta tag keywords and description.
If I set the publish settings for percent and exact fit none of the text that appears between the body tags is displayed to the visitor but the search engine should see them. My question is; is there any reason to not take this approach. Is there anything in this approach which could get the site dropped from search engines? |

no, I'm pretty sure putting text in the meta tags or description that matches the body text won't get you dropped from search engines, in fact I think that's a pretty good idea
Unfortunately, some search engines ignore the meta tags, and make decisions for themselves what keywords are important for your page based on the text content. I think this is why flash exports "text used in the movie" in a comment in the body of the html. On a side note What will get you dropped is if you hide text on the page by making it the same color as the background. |
