sending variables out of flash

Hi,

I have a simple form where users input their email address and they will hit the submit button and send it to a specified email address. I'm unclear as to the script I need to write to get the info out of flash and to the intended recipient. Thanks for the help!

ok two questions:

1> what server do you use?

2>can you use perl on your server?
Then I've got a killer script for you

if it's windows, can you use asp?

Send a message via Yahoo to bret
you'll have to use a server side script if you want it to mail directly (and not open a mail application like mailto: does.) Check out this from flashkit. it details how to mail someone from flash using almost any server side script:

cheers,

Hi Teabag,

Thanks for the reply...

At the risk of sounding dumb, I don't know what server I'm using and I don't know if I can use perl. I've been working in the design end and am now faced with needing to do some developing work. Any suggestions about how to learn what I need?

Hi Bret,

Thanks for the reply, I'll check out the scripts and see what I can figure out.
