Flash Player 10 - Text Overlaying in FF?

I've been working on banners for my job, and I've been having issues. When viewed in IE, they play fine. Each piece of text fades in and out correctly.

When they are viewed in FireFox, the text does not fade out, leaving layers of text on top of eachother. (I'd post a pic, but I can't post links as a new member)

Only thing is -- I'm not seeing the issue when I look at it in FF. Just my boss is.

Initially, I thought the frame rate was too high, so I lowered it to 9 FPS. I've also been working on reducing the file size to under 150 KB, but it doesn't seem to be a loading issue.

Any thoughts?

Hi, have you checked that he is running the latest Flash Plugin for FireFox? It's easy to do, just visit the adobe site in FF on his machine and follow the "Get Flash" links.

A typical consequence of viewing files published in newer Flash versions within an older plugin is that you will see strange graphical artifacts as you've described. It might not be this but it's the first and easiest thing to check.

Thanks for the feedback. I actually think the plug-in is the problem, too.

Since I'm trying to produce a banner that is easy for anyone to see, even those who don't have the latest plug-ins installed, should I be creating my .swf files in earlier versions of Action Script?

You can use ActionScript 3 for player version 9 and 10. Below that you use ActionScript 2. It really depends how safe you want to play it. You could go back to ActionScript 1 with Flash 6. If all you're doing is basic timeline tweens and simple gotoAndStops then that might be fine. I normally do banners aimed at Flash 9 with ActionScript 3 although sometimes I'll do one in AS2 for Flash 8.
