Using flash to preload a web page
hi,
i want to create some sort of preload for a web page. I thought maybe flash could do the trick.... a little bit more info: my page is taking to long to load, kind of annoying for visitors, ive made a javascript to pop up another html that says "loading" but theres no progress bar on the loading... i want to use the same html as my main site to show a loading screen, my site is a mix of flash and html and images.....is it possible to create a preload with a progress bar to load html? if any1 knows how to do this or knows were to find out info on this plz plz let me know ... thank you every1 Francisco.. www.labaze.com |

Hi, do you mean on the first page to come up? the one with the big picture or your main site after the image click. I'm confused since you do have preloaders on the main site, two of them...

the main flash in Lebase takes too long to load!! (You should vectorise your artwork) I'm using broadband still I have to wait 2 minutes!!
the links can't be read!! how come urban culture is related to RCA jacks? connect! but why with RCA jacks only? the mission of the site should be more clearly stated |

Hi, you could try optimising the images. I draw in photoshop, save as psd, open in fireworks and export as jpg. Tend to get better results than just lowering the quality in the jpg save options in photoshop.
You could try breaking the image apart. I think thats what they mean about vectorising. Once you've imported the jpg file place it in a new movie. Then choose Modify->Break Apart. Now delete the jpg file from your library. You could just try lowering the flash jpg quality in publish settings. This series of articles is really good. Its all about how to optimise your movies. Everyone should read the whole thing once..:¬) |
