Windows 'Projector' -- remote execute?
First off, I'm pretty new to Flash (and graphics in general), so please cut me some slack.
I've got this Flash presentation that exists as an SWF file. I've made an EXE/Projector file out of it and the EXE plays just fine and as expected. However, I'm trying to launch the EXE file from an already running Flash menu system. When you click on the link to execute the presentation, just a blank Flash 6 player screen comes up -- no movie playing.
A little background of this CD I'm working on and the layout (just in case this makes ANY difference):
It's a product CD for the company I work for. The sales monkeys want a few different presentations on the CD as well. There are five of them -- all entirely seperate from each other. I've converted them all to EXE projector files, and they ALL play perfectly by themselves, but when launched from the Flash installer/main menu that autorun.inf calls, they come up with the blank screen.
I've got a few of our products on the CD, various documentation on the CD as well (all in PDF format), as well as Acrobat reader -- all of this works PERFECTLY!
Why won't the Projector/EXE files "remotely execute"? Is this just from being launched within an EXISTING flash program? Can Flash not launch a seperate Flash/EXE from within itself (in a new window, mind you)?
Please help!!!
I've tried this with Flash 5 and Flash MX (which I'm assuming is 6 -- as I've said, I come from the hardware side of things -- pretty new to Flash)
Thank you,
--Alex
