Free Hosting for an English Language Learning Newsletter/Community
Hello, I work for the Ohio Program of Intensive English. This is an English (sorry, stating the obvious) language program for International Students. I am look for a free host to create an online community for them, using some kind of portal system like PHPnuke. Right now, I can only ask for free hosting. I am a student worker and trying to gain support for this idea. Our university server doesn't even offer dynamic web design options, so I have been forced to look elsewhere.
To get to the point, I should need: 50+MB space 500MB-1GB Bandwidth (maybe less, but this seems standard) 2 MySQL databases PHP support Control Panel (the next person with my job may need that more than myself) Also, an added bonus would be if I could have some way of one-click installing PHPnuke and PHPbb. But, I can most certainly work around that. Again, it is something that would benefit the next person in line should the site crash. Thank you for your time, Kristina Cunningham |

Subdomain?
My next question is, does it offer a subdomain? I don't own a domain for this project. And what kind of support can I get? I would assumed from you directly, but I want to make sure I ask all the right questions. I noticed that there isn't a forum support center, so I want to be sure I can get in contact with you should something go wrong. This is my first non-personal webproject and I want to be sure it goes very smoothly.

Fallen Through
It seems that the hosting option offered has fallen through. Does anyone else have any suggestions?
I am willing to be negotiable on some "necessities". Outside of the lack of a domain name, 50MB, PHP, and SQL database, I can be pretty flexible. If anyone needs any more information I would be happy to provide it. Thanks again. Sorry for the mass requests. -Kristina Cunningham |

Free-Webhosts
I tried free-webhosts, but am running out of time to work up forum posts. And most of the sites list that, which is unfortunate. That, or they're in a foreign language (which is also unfortunate, since I don't have enough Japanese kanji knowledge to navigate some of those sites effectively).
I am willing to work with ads, after all credit/money need to be given to a host somehow. However, even those hosts are getting sparse. Thanks for the information about Fantastico. I've just been introduced to the concept of C-panels. -Kristina |

Well most of the hosts require posting now. You only need 35 posts in our forum and it is fairly easy to do since we have lots of interesting topics to talk about.
If you are interested please visit URL Ken. |

Hosting found.
However, I will keep Sfera in mind once my personal Art website is in order. (URL) I'll have plenty of time to make posts for that. No time limits. :-) Thanks everyone! -Kristina Cunningham |
