Free hosting: is it so much to ask?

Finding a free host is impossible. I find a good one and they either go down or they start adding stupid restrictions. I can't handle it.

All I am asking for is:

At least 50 MB space (more is better)
mysql
php
perl/cgi
FTP access
at leats 1GB bandwith (more is better)

If someone can help me out, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Paul

If you would be willing to pay a very small amount go to http://coolinternetworld.com/ they have hosting with 5 gbs bandwidth, cpanel, 100 mbs space, lots more, for only 1.99/year.

While I'm not offering "Free Hosting" it would help sponsors know what they are getting in return for your "Free" account. Let them know the type of ads, if any, you are willing to give them on your site. Most of all don't just type in I want free hosting with 50mb space, 5 trillion mbs of bandwidth and Ensim. These tell the prospective host nothing. Be a little more descriptive about your site, is it a forum a gaming clan, etc, etc, etc. Only you know these answers.

Remember you are "selling" a concept to a sponsor, this hosting company in return is looking for ROI, return on investment. Good hunting....

Chris

I'll accept most adds but I would prefer nothing too extravegant.
The site will be a portal - blog, multimedia, forum, etc.

Not phpnuke or anything though.

Hello Paul,

I understand your frustration. It's common for dedicated free hosts to go down because there is nothing to support them.

A few years ago I managed one, but the owner of the server suddenly disappeared off the face of the earth. Very discouraging, to say the least.

But if the host has some means of income, it's not too much to ask. Nowadays, my company has about a dozen paying customers and I would never place any restrictions on any of them - not even the customers on free hosting. (The only rule is that illegal content is, obviously, not allowed.)

If you'd like to discuss this further, please contact me.

Thank you!
