Question Help about hosting

Hello,
Is there anyway I can setup hosting on my own computer...I have a spare comp that I dont use and would like to convert it to a server and run hosting on it...

you can, but.... not the best idea

depending on the number of websites you want to host and the coding (php, mysql, asp, etc.) you want to be available, you'll need to have a fast processor, lots of ram, and a fast internet connection with an ISP that alows you to run a server through the connection. Also need a things like a ftp server, a manager so you can restrict the space and bandwidth usage, your web server like apache or IIS. and that's just the basics

Well not really the SUPER fast processor but lots of ram.
the reason being your home connection couldn't possibily be dedicated T3 lines right?
Well at least not for now.....

You should be able to host up to 200 small sites on a PIII or about 2 larger sites.
But if anything like the size of DevShed you better get a PIV and dedicated Leased Lines.
