Need a dev host
basically i decided to learn php scripting a coupla days ago and im trying to create a few scripts and i need a host that supports php and has a large number of Mysql databases available...
the site is not one for visitors and wont have a fronta page or nething, just a bundle of scripts ill be trying out so i dont mind any sort of add, low bandwidth (higher then 100mb prefer) is acceptible and i dont need any thing else but: subdomain or /me or /dir/me url php a large number of MySql DB's (5 minimum) ftp acess... since this is basically a test site im not really fussy but a fast activation would be nice thank you.. |

Its really highly unlikely someone would let you use their network resources to a site that consumes bandwidth with no traffic...
Why don't you install Apache2Trial on your PC and do the testing from there?

There's nothing at all complicated about setting up apache2triad and I'd recommend that everyone, even people who do have hosting, get it installed to test applications on.
You'll save yourself a lot of headaches trying to figure out how things work or why they don't work. Apache2triad is as up to date as most pro hosts and has similar functions and features. I've just started to develop some more unix like applications for it as well and I may be releasing my own more secure version of the entire server bundle with a windows/apache Cpanel very soon. Develop, debug, and update sites on your own computer before uploading to your host! I'll be uploading about 50 or more preinstalled sites for it along with a beta of the control panel in the next few weeks. Rather than the entire 52 mb extreme addon, you'll be able to select from the sites and install only what you want. They all come as windows executables and are ready to log into in one or 2 minutes. All you need to do is log in and change your password. When you've worked out the content and everything the way you want it, upload it to your host and start advertising! No more need to risk working on a live site. ![]() |

Absolutely everything! Stuff you'll probably never need even.
with the added control of extreme-4-apache2triad , the windows control panel and hosting scripts, realtime monitoring, and more than 50 preinstalled sites and applications, you're gonna know what it's like to administer a server. You can run a small site off your computer long enough to find out if it's viable before moving to a pro host, or just use it to develop and test your applications. I wouldn't recommend trying to go into full production on a residential ISP account though, they'll soon catch onto the excessive bandwidth use and shut you down. This is classed as a develpment server bundle. Even though, with the right connection and equipment and proper administration, you could use it for full production use. There are corporations that are hosting themselves on apache2triad already! (With the proper "business" or "t1" connection of course) |
