Hello, Im not entirely sure what this forum is about, lets hope im on the right track

I was wondering if anyone would be willing to host a zone "a server that allows people to play a certain game"

I would like to be able to host the zones using somebodys server, i would need to have remote desktop or something so i can access it.

There is a server called T1+ or do you mean connection lines?

It needs to be a t1 or better, as in connection.
It cant be 56k or Cable/dsl

Dedicated T1+ connection at 1.5mps (upstream) = USD$2350/mth
In the sense of a Leased Line connection. SDSL with the same speed would also amount up to around Half of that amount monthly for Static IP configurations....

How much would your game generate in terms of revenue?

You probelly would not get anything out of the deal, i suppose if we created our own biller for the zone hosting, we could add addvertizements for the company that host us. Then mabey the people that play will go to the websites. Most likely, the biller will not have more then 50 people on the biller at once.
And thats if the server gets well known, when i hosted on cable (before i had a router and couldnt host anymore) we had about 500 signed up people for the biller.
Depending on the server, we could host about 5 zones. That is if we have cable.
If we had a good server, t3 or so, we could host around 8 without lag.

People on the game DO NOT pay for server hosting.

Also, when you enter the zone, mabey we can make a lil image that says "Server hosting provided by [Company name and website] which will stay there for a certain amount of time.

I would really appreciate somebody hosting this on a server that will be up 24/7.

By the way, a biller on this game is something that stores the User information. There aliases, scores, and many other things.

Okay, look, in the game SubSpace Continuum, people create zones, these are hosted on peoples servers. Zones are like servers in other types of games. You can see it on a list of other zones. People host each others zones for free, because some people cannot host them themselves. Whether it be because they have a router and cannot configure the right settings, or because they cant host the zone 24/7.

There are people who have dedicated there servers to hosting other zones. They have there own names (SSDT, SSCC, SSCX, SSCU,SSI,SSX,NTC,CRS,SFSS, ect.)
They all have there own billers. The billers are what store there scores,aliases (Names), and the biller can do much more. Such as bang (the ability to ban basically).

All of the zone hosters with SSC in front of them (with the exception of SFSS) have SSC biller. SSC biller is VERY hard to get. You need to have connections to get you a spot on it
You can either make your own biller, or use one that is already being hosted, or use on that is free and host that.

Right now, we need more host for the Game. The SS comunity of zones is growing in numbers.
I am wanting to be a host, and host other peoples servers. But i dont have a server. And i was wanting to use someone elses because i cannot buy my own. And in exchange, we could create a biller that has adds for the person who host us.
Our server name would reflect the host too. (exp. if the website that hosted us was freewebs.com, or name would be SSFW or SSW or SSF or something.)

The host right now are pretty much maxed out in zones that they can host. Anymore and the server would have to much pressure on it. And it would lag.
This is why i want to host.

Please consider letting me use your server.

your not going to get a T1 for free, and contunuum sysops DO pay for hosting... A LOT. you know the 4 letters before a zone like ssxh or sscu or the other ones? Those sre servers. In the MGS zone, the admin pays about 300$ a month to keep MGS onkline... thats y they assk for donations.

Now and then, a guy with a t1 or t3 or whatever comes around and says free hosting for a month... then the free hosting goes down. I would know this because I have owned 3 zones, Co-owned 4 and modded/smodded over 10.

I know how continuum works, belive me.
