Question CGI Tutorial, FP-98 verse FTP

I am using Front Page 98 with IE 5.5 and trying to learn how to use CGI scripts within it. Most scripts I download end up with errors. I realize this probably my fault in some way or other and I have studied 3 different tutorials. All three are written with respect FTP and telenet and it gets very confusing.

Isn't setting permissions with FP 98 getting me to the same place as setting them with FTP?

Can you recommend a tutorial for CGI written from a FP 98 perspective.

Not to be a pain, but this is an open-source web development site. I doubt you're going to find much help on Microsoft stuff here.

This is also kind of a weird question- FP doesn't really have anything to do with CGI scripts, and I don't know if you'll find a "frontpage CGI" tutorial.

Why don't you try doing a google search for "frontpage CGI tutorial" and see what pops up?
You might also try www.sitepoint.com.

If you want to learn about perl and CGI, then do some searches for "tutorial" in the perl forum here, we've linked to good resources on perl a million times.

Good luck!
