From the "Well, whatever will they think of next" department..
I have used PHP's FTP functions and MySQL to enable you to check the status of directories on an FTP server via a WAP phone. Now you can monitor your customers offsite.. Click here for an explanation and commented code.. |

I think an A for originality is due here. But I have to ask...
What next? |

Hmmm... well i've since done a page that simply does a record count for all the tables in database (haven't written it up yet though) and displays them as a table. Handy for checking on number of orders, etc..It was a bit quiet on Friday so I have adapted one of my earlier pages to accept text from the mobile and write it out to an RSS file and insert a record in a database - the RSS is then parsed on my home page as a ticker.. I plan to set the database entries up as a blog... handy for flash mobbing maybe ![]() Of course the best one so far (i think) is what I call a stock allocation system that allows querying a product database and then allocating stock for the customer - updates the stock database at the same time... I'll happily accept challenges though ! Check out My Stuff for updates as they happen! |
