With a download manager you can drag & drop the links to the download window which is a small window that will look like a down pointing arrow it will always stay on top of your other windows and you can move it around.
The above mentioned download manager has a feature called site explorer that will allow you to explore the site/directory and pick which files you want since I believe the file names you download are different every day.
I've attached a image that gives a little info on the site explorer feature.
The main advantage for you in using a download manager is the speed of the downloading, this is a clip giving a little detail:
FDM accelerates downloads by splitting files into sections and then downloading them simultaneously. As a result download speed increases up to 600%, or even more! FDM can also resume broken downloads so you needn`t start downloading from the beginning after casual interruption. |
Awesome!
But another question - Will this let me filter the 500 odd links at one go and then just drag and drop them to the designated folder on my desktop from the https link at once rather then selecting them one by one?
If yes, it in my opinion will be a great solution to my problem, but the only thing that I don't want to do is searching them one-by-one and then using the drag and drop feature.
Please advise...
Thank you!

Hi Sir,
Hope you're doing great!
I've tried a couple of IDMs suggested by you. The ones I've tried are:
http://internetdownloadmanager.com/index.html,
http://www.flashget.comindex_en.html
While these let me download all using Grabber etc. I still haven't been able to reach a point where I can download only the desired batch of files
I'm feeling a bit uneasy now given the fact it is taking immense time, and thought to check with you for some more assistance.
Please advise your thoughts...

I believe you said you were using as your browser(IE-Internet Explorer), If so, when you are on the page where you download these files, Click on the IE menu item(View) then click on "Source", when this opens(most likely in notepad) save it to a text file(i.e. page.txt) and attach it to a message back here via the "Manage Attachments" button below where you are typing in the 'Additional Options' section, or post a screen capture so I can see what the screen looks like.

its very simple, really.
use google.com to search for "free image hosting" and choose one of the first 5 results to upload your screenshot to and, then, post the link to the uploaded image here.

The free products that I have mentioned(see attached images).
FreeDownloadManager has a "site explorer" feature and coreFTP client has the same type feature and you can filter the files that show in the list.
So you should be able to select files individually by left clicking the first file, hold down the ctrl key and left clicking the next file and so on or select a block of files by left clicking on the first file and hold down the shift key and left clicking the last file.
After selecting the files you can right click one of the highlighted files and select download to download all the files selected.
