hi ,
I'v got wu-ftpd 2.6.1-18 on my Redhat 7.2 as my ftp server. I can ftp by all the existed username and password but root . i know that's not a good idea to enable it but i want to be able to ftp as root user . I did uncomment the root in "/etc/ftpaccess " file but no use and still i couldn't ftp as root user. what should i do ? your prompt reply will be highly appreciated . rgds m_a |

FTP as root? yikes. The reason that ftp as root is not encourages is that passwords are usually sent in the clear with FTP. Same applies for telnet. Why don't you try SFTP?
Most SFTP installations by default allow the root user to connect, and your password is not sent in the clear.
