FTP Connrection problem

I hope this is not a stupid question as I'm new to FTP. The problem is I cannot connect from an external source i.e. someone elses computer on a different isp to my ftp site. The site works internally for me through my own isp. I have opened port 21 on my router and have assigned a hostname through dyndns.com because I don't have a static ip address. Client is Filezilla. I get the message "cannot connect to server". FTP server is a Linksys NSLU2 but I've also tried a Buffalo Linkstaion Live.

Thanks
Peter

Try to externally connect via your ISP provided IP address.
