FTP error

Hello all,
Since I installed XP SR2 I can’t access my FTP server from outside my network.

However I can access it with FTP DOS command or if I browse to it from office (Word). But not with an Internet browser.

I get the following error:
An error occurred opening that folder on the FTP Server. Make sure you have permission to access that folder.

Details:
200 Type set to A.
227 Entering Passive Mode (192,192,3,9,216)
426 Connection closed; transfer aborted.

When I go to (browser) tools/Internet options/Connections/LAN Settings and I check Proxy server and from Advance I add the ftp://ftp...... address and port 21 on the FTP line I receive the “Log On as” but it doesn’t accept anonymous login and I know I set my server to accept it.

If I check off the XP firewall it still doesn’t work.

Any idea? Thanks

ESO

ESO's FTP XP SP2 problem

I saw similar on a spy/trojan ridden browser, I think I unloaded/reloaded the browser applic. to fix it. Probably ran SpybotSD13 & WIN updated/patched it too. The error 426 'transfer aborted' is suspicious. It's as if the server doesn't see the incoming connection as anonymous. So I'd also check the details in XP SP2..I think it locks down Browser and NTFS actions/permissions.
