192.168.X.X IPs are internal. You will not be able to access that IP from outside the network. Instead, you will need to use the router's IP, which you can find by logging into the router, probably by putting 192.168.2.1 into your web browser. You will need to do two things: 1) find the router's IP address, and 2) forward the FTP port to your machine with the 192.168.2.XXX IP.

You would use this IP
WAN IP: 82.20.231.*** And forward port 21 to your 192.168.2.x address.

ftp
When you connect locally 192.168.0.1..2..3 whatever, there will be little to no trouble in gaining a web based service running remotely. If you wish to connect from outside your network 86.52.622.whatever you have to connect from out side (using your wan network address locally to connect to a web service will direct you to your router IP). Once you have overstepped this you will have to fiddle around with the ports on your router, some will have to be forwarded to your web application home ip address. You should then be able to connect via the web to your web service.
this should help. but you should really read some resources or even a book detailing NAT, FTP, Ports, FireWalls, Networks and TCP. http://www.portforward.com/ |
