FTP no upload possible
Hello,
Can anybody help me. Ik cannot upload with xp webfolders, wsftp and leechftp. (just so you know it isn't one program) In Wsftp pro I get an error msg failed, error 451. With xp webfolders the file does not transfer and the transfer box stays open. It is not posible to cancel, except with ctr-alt-del. I tried it with firewall off and on. Anybody? Thanks |

Just to be sure of it...does your FTP user have write priveleges to that directory?

What do you mean? I have entered a user and p-word, Usually that is enough, to upload. Does it help if I post my WsFTP log. There is no extra password to that directory, and as far as I know nothing changed (server side), since I upgraded my pc (that's when the trouble started). Also, it is possible to upload using UltraEdit - 32, kinda hard to upload pictures with an editor. Thanks Jeroen |

Quote:
What he means is that, to create files in a directory, you need to have permission to do so. If a directory is protected, only selected users can write to it. Which means you need to be in the selected list, or have sufficient privileges allowed by the operating system so you can bypass those protections. Quote:
If you reinstalled the operating system, you may have removed the user from the system (in which case, you wouldn't be allowed to log on with that username and password), or the process of upgrading may have changed the users access rights or privileges. That will mean, even if you log on, that the system won't let you create files or directories.
