Angry FTP Server On My LAN???

OK, I'll get straight to the point, I have a LAN (2 PC's Connected via a cross-over cable, both pc's are using Windows XP Proffesional SP1), I have 576kb/s broadband wiht ICS activated and I want to set up a web-server.

I set up the web server properly on my networked pc (this is the one that uses the others broadband connection over the LAN).
But no matter what I do nothing works, I can access the server on both networked PC's as long as I use the local IP address (192.168.0.XXX) but not using my actual IP address, I cannot access this address from anywhere. I have Norton Internet Security 2004 Professional, I have not touched this software apart from to allow my LAN connection.

Is there anyone who can help me to set my server up?
PS. I have tried many programs for this, if you only know how to for one type of program I will purchase it and start from there.

You need to configure the server with the broadband connection to forward traffic on port 80 to the other machine.

This is very easy to do with Linux and iptables, but probably difficult to do on Windows. Sorry.

I have 2 pcs and one of my pcs is running a FTP server. The best I have found to fix the problem is do away with the crossover cable and use a router. I am using a Dlink router that you set the port forwarding to which computers IP address you want and which port you want to use and it works beautifully. I am using a cable modem that has a dynamic IP address and my brother can hit my FTP server from outside my LAN with no problems. I hope I shed some light for you.
