Ftp then Email address
Hi there - very new to everything (Web, FTP, Databases, Prison Break)
I can currently upload a file to my web Server (per FTP) - but I need to know how to include a link to the file in an email ? So that when the email repient clicks the link, the file will be download ? Should be simple - but I am unsure of the format of the url - and do I need special permissions on the file / directory etc Any help would be greatly appreciated Many thanks in advance Glorifindal |

Welcome to Dev Shed.
To email a link, you need to send it in the format of either: ftp://domain.com/path/to/file/ (then they can download from that location) or http://domain.com/path/to/file/file.zip For the first link, you'll need to provide the username / password for them to log in. for the 2nd link, you'll need to either have the file uploaded to a webserver. |
