Ftp to my box

hi I am trying to access my ftp site from an external comp:

I have tried "ftp://<IP address>"
On my router I have port forwarded port 21 to my box and set up the Ftp site as well (on port 21)

however not connecting, anyideas why?

Can you ping your ip?
Is port 20 forwrded as well?
It is possible that your isp is blocking your ftp ports.

- can ping ok
- ISP not blocking FTP ports
- will forward port 20 when I get to my comp (not there right now)

any ideas?

Try the following, provided you can ping your ip:
pen Internet Explorer, in the adressbar type:
ftp://username@ipadress.com
where you exchange username for the login name you would use to access your server.
I am not usre about anonynous, I never use that.Alternatively you can try a free program called fillezilla (sorry i cant post link yet) which might testing and establishing the connection easier.
