FTP Woes: 500 Invalid Port Command [resolved]
I have been Googling and Yahooing this error til Im blue so I figure time to ask others. I am using Win2KPro IIS FTP Server. It was working fine, now it keeps giving me this command as it enters passive mode: "500 Invalid Port Command". I set to active and same thing. I am using Total Commander for the FTP client, but have also tried command line and WSFTP Pro as well. All with the same error. I have juggled the ports on my Linksys router a lot and nothing seems to help. Same error each time. Any suggestions?

What command are you trying to use? Usually, sending a HELP command should list te common ones available on the specific server.

IIS doesn't handle Passive mode, so shut off passive mode in your client. You may want to try Serv-U to resolve the IISFTP nightmares that await you.
If not, have you changed permissions on your ftp server recently? Have you tested the ftp connection from inside your firewall with another system? Can you connect via your local system? |
