I'm wondering how difficult it is to set up a Red Hat Linux web server on a permanent internet connection running Apache so that I can FTP to it from a remote site. Is this a feature of Apache or do I need extra software to be able to do this?

Not at all. >>so that I can FTP to it from a remote site That has nothing to do with Apache at all. >>do I need extra software to be able to do this? FTP server should be installed by default. Or preferably, you should check out http://www.proftpd.net/ |
