Ftping to a Linksys NSLU2
I have been working on this issue for quite sometime.
I picked up one of those Linksys NSLU2 devices and with the new firmware had ftp options. My issue is I can access the device from my internal connection, but it keeps timing out from a remote location. I have followed D-Links instructions for port forwarding and opening up port 20 and 21 in the router firewall. I have also tried setting up a ftp server on my desktop computer and have the same issue, can connect from my network but not from a remote location. Any help would be great. |

For a router, are you sure you are using the right ports and have forwarded those ports TCP and UDP?

I was using a friends account for this and thought a bit retarded and created my own account. I went back and looked at the router and have it set with my 192.168.x.x ip address with tcp and udp. I am using a different port for outside and 21 inside. My ip filter has ports 20 and 21 open with a * for ip range as suggested by D-Link support page and firewall is told to allow ports 20 and 21 on my router address. Although I did notice it has a deny with wan and lan with an * on port 20 and 21, this option is grayed out and I cannot change or delete. I have tried the IP for my NAS with the dmz wide open also. When I do try to connect off my server it will say connected and then stop at the list command and then time out at my end. I am stumped ![]() |
