Help! How do I access FTP on My network
Hi All. I work on a network at my work place and since i resumed, I've been trying without success to download ftp sites. Whenever i tried it gave host unknown. I tried enabling port 21 on the server and later it would connect and immediate give: connection closed by remote host.
Please what can i do? ![]() |

that deppends... what operating system are you running on? what ftp program did you try downloading? what is your network configuration looking like? abit more spec would help you out a bit more.

I can give a little spec.
The Server runs windows 2000 Server, I tried downloading some isos from LinuxISO.com. The Network is a LAN, I connect via a proxy server with SAT 3 access. I'll appreciate if you can help

ok first.... did you check and see that you do have port 21 open? also make sure you have it configured to work with your proxy.
