Help with SSH Secure Shell FTP commands

Can anyone of you tell me some commands to upload and/or take out files from this type of FTP service? All i know is some of the ones that a supervisor was telling me, but it'll take a lot of time to actually get in contact with her. Please help me with the commands. I'm fairly new with this type of FTP, but i only know how to do FTP without this type of problem. Please help me although, i don't want to sound mean ^^.
