Question How do I access Linux Folder via FTP?

Hi,

I have a number of vhosts each with domains, these domains currently share certain php files in various folders above the vhosts folder. e.g. db connection scripts, functions etc.

I would like to be able to access this php folder with my shared files in via FTP - How can I do this?

Otherwise I have to FTP to a vhost domain and then go into Putty and manually move the files across - very tiresome.

Thanks

Daniel

Is an FTP server setup on the machine already?
If so, is the appropriate port forwarded/opened in the router/firewall?
If so, what's happening when you try to FTP in? (Error message?)

You can use a client like coreftp to log in using sftp. Use the same user account that you use to log in with putty (the account that has access to the folders above the vhosts folder). Liek that you won't be caged in like you would with FTP
