try WinSCP or filezilla. The are both sftp clients. (this is presuming its sftp rmal ftp and not not normal ftp over an ssh tunnel. (sftp)

Thanks you displeaser!
I tried to connect winscp but it says 'Host has not answered for 15 seconds'? Do I need to adjust the timeout on the FTP server or there is a problem with my configuration?

I'm more familiar with filezilla to be honest. Are you sure the sftp site is up? You shouldnt realy have to adjust the timeout.

What details were you given (not the exact details just if you received a username, password, port number etc)?

Try it with filezilla, you may get a better error message.
