How to prevent the FTP control connection from closing during long data transfers

Hi,

I am able to upload small files (around 5 KB), but the control connection is closed by the client when larger files are uploaded.

Please suggest how I can prevent this...I issued a NOOP from the server, but the client mis-understands this as a response 125.

I am using Filezilla as the FTP client..

Please also mention how the NOOP command is formatted...
