I am SSH telnt and ftp , am I using VPN???

I am testing and reading, but I get myself confused about all this jarons as I am learning and using it very often now!

I am using SSH provide by uk2.net which I have download for trial test. As I mentioned this in apache forums which should talk and discussion on apache. Since Freesbsd hanging around there for all times. I also informally tell him I have posted my problem here. hoping I get the attention of everybody to listen to my problem and helping me out. I was stupid and foolish.

when I used SSH telnet it registered on the bottom of the fram is SSH2 -aes128-cbc-hmac-md5- none. I do not know really I am "encrytption method to telnet into our company site", since many passwords and login names are flowing in the internet which is a dangerous things to do.

q1 Does any tell that piece of small software SSHR secure shell verion 3.00 is giving me proper encryption for free?

q2 is ssh telnet a kind of VPN?

q3. will someone can still peek over our password and loginname...?
q4.will my isp able to encode or break into the ssh telnet since we are using her services.

A1: Search google.com. Personally, I use SecureCRT on Windows.

A2: No. VPN is to connect two networks together in tunnel-mode when using with IPSec. Say two parties each has a static IP and they need to connect to each others securely, then IPSec's transport-mode should be used. Once IPSec and IKE (i.e. racoon) have been configured properly on both ends, any communication (even telnet and FTP) between two parties are secure.

A3: No if it's configured properly.

A4: Don't know what you mean by ISP. It has nothing to do with your ISP at all.
