Installing FTP Server on Fedora core 2?
I have tried both vsFTPD and ProFTPD and had problems with both. I did a search for both and neither came pre installed on my virtual dedicated server I just purchased from godaddy. Can anyone help me get either of these working.
With vsFTPD I unziped the tar file using winzip and then loaded the files to my remote server. I typed make and got an error about target' something.o'. I am not home right now to remote into the machine so I am sorry I don't have the exact error.
I was told after failing with that to try ProFTPD and when I attempted to copy the rpm file to the server using PuTTY FTP Client it gave me a Permission Denied error and would not copy the file to the server. I am going to mess with this a little more when I get home and maybe even contact godaddy about the issue but even after I get that copied I am not sure if it is going to work.
The reason I am writing this message now is in case anyone has any tips or advice for me before I spend too much time trying to get this to work.
